The Circular and Solidarity Economy Centre project aims to develop a hub dedicated to the reuse, repair and recovery of objects and materials.
This facility will bring together several complementary activities within a single space: a reuse centre, a materials library, a permanent repair shop and a manufacturing workshop.
Beyond resource management, the project seeks to contribute to the development of a more circular, local and inclusive economy.
It highlights the potential to combine waste reduction, the recovery and reuse of materials, the creation of local economic activities and socio-professional integration.
The implementation of this project is financially supported by the European Union and Wallonia under the ERDF 2021–2027 programme.
The project consists of two volumes, each resting on a concrete foundation slab, facilitating the movement of trucks, trolleys and racks within the workshops.
These volumes accommodate a lighter timber structure, consisting of a post-and-beam system made of glued laminated timber.
The façades consist, in their lower section, of insulated precast concrete walls to a height of 2.70 m.
The upper section is constructed using a timber frame, complemented by an external timber cladding.
